What is different about doing this on water

The harbour decides, not you

Berth allocations move, cranes are rescheduled and a swell warning closes a quay. Permissions go in first and every plan has the version that survives the berth changing on the Thursday.

There is no back of house

No kitchen, no store, no staff room and nowhere to put empty crates. Everything arrives on a schedule and leaves on one, because a pallet left on a superyacht quay is a fine.

The crew are part of the plan

It is their boat, their teak and their evening too. Crew are on the run sheet with the caterers, and we ask what they will not accept before we design anything.

We build overnight and strike overnight

Show floors and quays are only available when nothing else is happening. That costs more in labour and is the only way the boat spends the day looking like a boat.
